We are so happy to announce that Fr. Robert Campagna, OFM, the Provincial of the Immaculate Conception Province of the Franciscan Friars, has granted permission for our own Fr. André Cirino, OFM, to come live and work with us. Fr. André has taken up residence in our rectory as of Thursday, January 19. Naturally, you will be seeing more of Fr. André as he joins all of our Pastoral activities in both churches, Holy Mount, and our apostolates and ministries. Fr. André will continue some of his work with his Province and the greater Franciscan Community.
May God use him effectively among us as he has for over 50 years of priestly life — and even longer as a Franciscan Friar.

Calling Student Lectors in Grades 8-12
Training on January 22
Serving as a lector at Mass is a great way for you to learn more about God as you gain public-speaking experience. Why not learn more about this important ministry?
If you are interested in reading at Sunday Mass and other liturgies throughout the year, please come for a 1-hour training session on Sunday, January 22, at 3:30 PM, in Immaculate Conception Church. Youth who are committed to this ministry can earn community service hours as well. Please join us!
Questions? Send a message to Alina at [email protected].
Become a Lector or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
During the Pandemic, many had to leave these two important ministries in our Parish. In particular, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMs) are needed. If you are interested and are ready to get to work, after some brief training, you will assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and be able to bring Communion to the homebound and elderly.
If you are interested in becoming an EM or Lector, please contact Fr. Sorgie to discuss.
"At PREP, we have come through the first half of our first full year of in-person instruction since the start of the pandemic. I am extremely proud of and grateful to our dedicated volunteer catechists, aides, and monitors. However, there is a problem; we need additional catechists, aides, and monitors if we are going to continue for the remainder of the year. We need your help now.
If you are a parent of a PREP student or a parishioner over the age of 18, I implore you to seriously consider volunteering to serve God and His Church as a catechist, aide, or monitor. There are few higher callings than the call to spread our Catholic faith to our youth. Please consider giving an hour a week to this ministry of evangelization to the children of the Parish of Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Our Lady.
Please contact the PREP Office at (914) 961-1076 or stop by the PREP Office on Tuesday or Wednesday between the hours of 12 Noon and 2 PM."
Going forward:
The Divine Mercy Chapel was built within the Father Anthony Domenic Sorgie Parish Center in 2020. You can enter the Chapel by going to the Parish Center front door, which is located behind the School, and, after being let in, walking to the Chapel.

After many months of waiting, we are happy to announce that the internal demolition and reconstruction of the former Immaculate Conception Convent into the St. Frances Cabrini Apartments for Adults with Autism began on Monday, October 3.
A proper road will be constructed to grant access to the building for the future residents, and the grounds will be landscaped. Thank you for your patience as there will be construction work until the project is completed.
We pray for a safe and successful construction as our parish looks forward to being able to serve a community in need.
It has come to our attention that the names of the pastors of our three local parishes (IHM, St. Joseph's, and ICA) are being used in an email scam. We would like to officially state that Fr. Sorgie would NEVER ask for gift cards or anything of the sort through email. If you have any doubts about the veracity of an email, please call the parish office - (914) 961-3643 - and speak to a staff member before responding.
If Fr. Sorgie were to ask for assistance, he would reach out through more personal means, such as a phone call or speaking in person. Thank you for your assistance in stopping this cyber-crime.
The image below provides an example of where to find the information detailed underneath. It is not an actual Scam email.
The opening of our long-awaited, new Parish Center began with the move of all Parish Offices out of the Rectory. The Parish Center can be entered from the original entrance to the school building. There is a handicap ramp between the Church and School and a new sign to lead you directly to the new center.
For all Parish business, please visit our new offices and see the center as we prepare for its complete opening.
We are all together in this crisis, and our family of faith that we call the Parish of Immaculate Conception & Assumption of Our Lady has always been and will continue to be with you through this. We have parishioners on standby to assist anyone who might become quarantined and in need of food, medicine, or other support.
If you have prayer requests or questions, please message Fr. Sorgie HERE.

The construction of the new Columbarium and Terrace Gardens at Holy Mount Cemetery is complete. This project gives our Parishioners – and anyone else – an opportunity to spiritually and respectfully have their loved one’s ashes rest intact on the Sacred Grounds of Holy Mount Cemetery. There are 1,642 niches; some are already sold.
Please call Maria, Administrative Assistant of Holy Mount Cemetery, to schedule an appointment to view the 3-D Model of the Columbarium or to reserve a niche(s) for you or your loved ones at (914) 961-3643 on Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM. You may also email her HERE. A 50% deposit is required for reservation. More detailed information and additional images of the model can be found HERE.
While we have resumed public Masses, we urge all who can to please consider joining the convenient online WeShare automated giving program. Click on this link to set up automatic giving to keep our Parish ready and solvent to reopen with strength and speed when we can. After the page opens, look around WeShare at the collection opportunities and click on the yellow button, "Make a Donation", and follow the directions. God bless you for your continuing sacrifices.
For those of you who have returned to Mass, you will have the opportunity to give your envelopes and contributions at the offertory.
You can also place them in the donation boxes located in both our churches when they are open.* These Masses will be livestreamed.
Pandemic Protocols
The Precious Blood will not be offered to the faithful.
Communicants are encouraged to receive Communion in the open hand rather than on the tongue.
The use of hand sanitizer before and after the distribution of Holy Communion is a prudent practice.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey
as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.
At the foot of the Cross, you participated
in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith.
You, Our Lady of New York, know what we need.
We are certain that you will provide,
so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee,
joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves
to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us:
He who took our sufferings upon Himself,
and bore our sorrows to bring us,
through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection.
We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.
Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test –
and deliver us from every danger,
O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
